MEET Janine
Janine grew up in South Gippsland and never imagined she would spend most of her adult life living on the Indian subcontinent working in education and member care!
Janine and John had an international role with Interserve as Third Culture Kids (MKs) and Families advisors. This involved travelling and leading sessions for both MKs growing up in a culture different from their parents, and for parents and teachers on issues affecting MKs – education, transition, loss and grief, rootlessness and identity.
Janine continues to be involved with MKs, leading annual camps, along with John, for school age students resettling back in Australia. Janine also works part time as a Supported Playgroup facilitator for a local shire, working with those who may be socially isolated or needing extra support. She trained as a kindergarten teacher and still loves the under 5 age group the best! She loves spending time with her 3 children, son in law, daughter in law and five grandchildren.
