MEET Andy
State school educated, my first teaching appointment was at Whyalla High School in S.A. Six years later our family moved to Melbourne to be part of the TLC community where I became part of the schools outreach ministry.
Deeply prejudiced against Private Schools, it took some convincing for me to take a temporary teaching role in a Christian School, but that proved to be life changing.
I was quickly convinced of the deep value of this ministry and subsequently spent forty years working in Christian schools (Mt District; Maranatha; Chairo and Belgrave Heights) teaching all year levels, across a wide variety of subjects. I’ve also enjoyed the privilege and challenge of various leadership roles over this journey, including Principal for the last eighteen years.
Served for sixteen years on the CSA State Council, including seven years as Chair and a member of the CSA National Council.
Participated in around a hundred State and National Christian School conferences and symposiums, including leading devotions and presenting seminars.
Part of the second cohort of the two-year ISV / Harvard “Leading Learning That Matters” program.
Personal
My focus is faith, family, food and fun (also addicted to alliteration)
For fun? – food with family and friends; reading; swimming; landscaping; gardening; mountain biking; campfires, chainsaws and chopping wood!
Currently living in an off-grid Tiny House in the Dandenong Ranges with my wife Daphne. We have four remarkable adult children, and nine energetic grandchildren (six of whom attend Belgrave Heights Christian School 😊)
