Casual Study
Interested in a particular subject but not quite ready to do a whole course?
Casual study at Eastern allows you to be a lifelong learner and participate in classes without completing a full award.
- Choose a unit from Eastern’s Education, Ministry, Youth Studies and Counselling offerings.
- Choose what type of student you prefer to enrol as:
Audit Student
Auditing is a great opportunity for those who would like to dip their toes into quality learning without the pressure of assessments. You will pay a reduced fee to simply sit in on lectures. Audit students do not receive a Unit Guide and are not required to complete reading or assessment tasks.
Non-Award Student
You’ll do all the same assessments and pay the same fee as a student enrolled in a full course of study. You can ask for an official transcript to show you’ve completed the unit, and if you choose to go on to further study your unit may count towards an award.
Cross Institutional Student
If you’re already enrolled in another higher education institution, you may be able to complete some of Eastern’s units and have them credited towards your degree.
